As a Behavior Technician, an employee would be working 1:1 with a client, that has been diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD), who may display aggressive, disruptive, non-compliant and/or self-abusive behavior. We are seeking qualified, dedicated, compassionate, and energetic people to join our team as Behavioral Health Technicians. Training consists of skill acquisition for self-help skills, academic skills, social skills, communication skills, vocational skills and basic attending skills. The BT assists with assessments, conducts direct observations, implements training protocols, and documents training progress. Some work will be observed by supervisors, parents, teachers and other staff. Training is presented during intense one-on-one, requiring high levels of energy and enthusiasm maintained throughout the program day and evening.
1. Providing personal assistance based on the needs of the 1:1 client, that has been diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) as follows: dressing, bathing, tooth brushing, toileting, shaving, hair washing, nail care, social interaction, community integration, reinforcement of counseling and therapies, housekeeping, shopping, laundry, monitoring weight, height, and vital signs, medication monitoring, feeding, food preparation, and money management.
2. Documentation: Residential Assistance Service Delivery Logs and Progress Notes, Monitoring Sheets Behavior Data Collection Sheets, Medication Administration Records, and Habilitation Training Sheets.
3. Documentation is completed online through the company’s Program.
4. Adherence to Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Standards.
5. Follow Safety Guidelines.
6. Participation in staff meetings and in-service training.
7. Implement and document Emergency Evacuation Drills.
8. Respond to emergency needs of individuals as needed including obtaining emergency care/ assistance and implementing the agency’s personal behavioral intervention technique.
9. All other duties as assigned.
